Brent Sims

Brent Sims, born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, launched his film career with the critically acclaimed documentary about homeless teens entitled GUTTER PUNKS.  After the film came to the attention of Sundance Film Fest advisor Robert Hawk, it world premiered at The Hamptons International Film Festival and went on to play 32 international film festivals and received international distribution at the IFP Market (Independent Feature Project).

Sims’ next adapted and directed the groundbreaking short entitled SILENCE.  The project was the first film to utilize Nintendo Game Systems' Gameboy Camera for principle photography and was one of six digital projects programmed as part of the first digital showcase at Cannes International Film Festival, later programmed at Sundance(D.Film presentation), Rotterdam, Berlin and 15 international film festivals as part of the D.Film Digital Film Tour.

Sims next wrote and directed controversial digital feature entitled, BECOMING VEX, a gritty ultra-violent homage to the American Burbs.  Critics have compared it to A Clockwork Orange.BV was invited to showcase at the 2001 New York Independent Feature Market(IFP),
programmed in official competition at 2002 Cinequest San Jose Film Festival where it was one of eight international digital features selected as part of DXD (digital by digital showcase).  It went on to play six international film festivals; including Atlanta and Seoul Korea.

In 2004, Sims moved from producing indie films to developing unique screenplays. Some of his spec scripts include:
